New Branding

A while back I hired Nadine Sellavato at Brand Envy to help me come up with branding for my business materials. It’s something I had been thinking about for years…. in the past I had always done my own design, but that just wasn’t cutting it anymore. I have decent taste but I didn’t have any training as a graphic designer. As my business grew and I became more successful, I wanted that to be reflected in the material I presented to clients. It was an interesting process to go through and took a long time and quite a few revisions to dial in, but I am quite pleased with the results.

Here is a Christmas campaign I shot for Wet Seal at the Paramount Studios back lot in the New York Streets section. I know, this one is a little late….. We actually shot this back in September. I’ve had a crazy few months, shooting almost every single day since then, and it’s taken me this long just to look through the images and add them to my website. Enjoy them, and I’ll do my best to catch up a bit with more recent work

Video Portrait of Helene

At last, the final version of the video portrait I shot of fashion model Helene Traasavik. Thanks to Smashbox Digital for a for a great job with the edit.

For those of you that are curious, I shot this on the tripod mounted Canon 5D MarkII using a small light mounted to the camera’s hot shoe. I manipulated the spill of light into a narrow beam using a bit of Cinefoil.

A Recent Test in the Studio

A little while back I had a studio shoot at 5th & Sunset Studios with a celebrity for a popular magazine. You just never know what you’re gonna get on celebrity shoots… sometimes it’s an all around lovely experience….. and other times it’s….. well, let’s just say it can be a challenge.

After it was over we had a couple hours of studio time left so we decided it would be nice to shoot some photos just for fun…. and as a way to get the previous experience off our minds! As it turned out, one of my favorite models, Danielle Donn from Nous Model Management, just happened to be in the studio next door at a casting. What luck! She was kind enough to spend time with us just having some fun, and these photos are the result.

It was a fantastic way to end the day and really made everyone on the crew feel pumped up about our jobs!

My fan holder and tattooed hand model was the amazing hair stylist Daven Mayeda.

As an added bonus, Fitness Magazine ended up using a photo from the shoot to illustrate one of their articles.
